2. Personal data we process
We process different categories of data to carry out our mission as a church community:
Basic and contact information: First and last name, gender, date of birth, address, phone number, and email address.
Financial data: Bank account number (only for donations, gifts, or payments for courses/activities).
Church/Special details: Membership status, baptismal details, participation in pastoral courses or programs, and (if applicable) pastoral notes or prayer requests.

Digital data: IP address and anonymized statistics on website visits.
3. Goals and Legal Grounds
Unlike commercial institutions, Jesus Central Church primarily processes data based on its religious objectives. We adhere to the following foundations:
Justified activities of a church (Art. 9 paragraph 2 sub d GDPR): This is the basis for our membership administration and pastoral care. We process data of (former) members or people who regularly maintain contact with us in order to function as a faith community.
Legal obligation (Art. 6 paragraph 1 sub c GDPR): We keep financial data (donations) for 7 years for the tax authorities.
Execution of agreement (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR): When you enroll in a specific paid course or activity.
Legitimate interest (Art. 6 paragraph 1 sub f GDPR): For the security of our location (camera surveillance) and providing livestreams for congregation members who cannot be present.
Consent (Art. 6 paragraph 1 sub a GDPR): For sending newsletters to non-members or for specific promotional material (close-ups).
4. Retention periods
We do not retain your data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected:
Members: During the term of the membership. After deregistration, core data (such as baptism and marriage dates) are included in our historical archive due to their religious value, unless you explicitly request complete removal.
Guests/Visitors: Data from one-time visitors (e.g., via a contact form) are after 2 years removed due to inactivity.
Financial data: These are kept for 7 years in accordance with tax legislation.
5. Sharing with third parties
Your data will be never sold to third parties. We only share data if:
This is necessary for our services (e.g., an email system or hosting party with whom we have a processor agreement).
You give us explicit permission for this (e.g., for referral to external assistance).
We are legally obliged to do so.
6. Photography, Media and Livestreaming
Our gatherings are broadcast live and recorded. We strive to balance our evangelization mission and your privacy:
Atmospheric images: During services, overview images are taken. We try not to show individual visitors in a recognizable manner or at vulnerable moments (such as during prayer).
Media-free zones: In our hall, specific areas have been designated (such as the back rows under the low ceiling) that remain out of the cameras' reach. Do you not want to be in view? Then take a seat there.
Gros plans : For targeted use of photos on social media or in flyers, we ask for prior consent wherever possible.
Objection: If you want to have a published photo removed, you can send a request to privacy@jesuscentral.nl.
7. Cookies and Website Use
Our website uses cookies to improve the user experience:
Analytical cookies: We use Google Analytics in a privacy-friendly manner (IP addresses are anonymized, data is not shared with Google for advertising purposes). Therefore, a cookie banner for these cookies is not legally required.
Security: We use necessary cookies for the security of the website (such as Wordfence).
Tracking: We do not place third-party tracking cookies without your consent via a banner.
8. Your Rights and Identification
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict your data.
Submit request: Send your request to privacy@jesuscentral.nl.
Identification: To ensure your privacy, we must establish that the request genuinely comes from you. We prefer to do this via a verification email or by asking control questions about your registration. Only in cases of serious doubt may we ask you to identify yourself (e.g., by showing your ID on location or sending a shielded copy via the Rijksoverheid's KopieID app).
9. Security
We take appropriate measures to prevent misuse and unauthorized access. This includes secure servers, limited access for employees/volunteers, and physical security of our paper archives at the church location.
10. Complaints
Do you have a question or complaint? Contact us at church@jesuscentral.nl. If we can't resolve the issue, you have the right to file a complaint with the national supervisor: the Authority Personal Data.
